Accessibility
Camellia Wellness wants this website to be usable by everyone. The site was designed and built against WCAG 2.1 AA guidance, and the practices below describe what is actually implemented — not aspirations.
What is implemented
- Color contrast: the palette was chosen against measured contrast ratios (body text 6.9:1–7.9:1 on its surfaces; footer text 7.8:1; the decorative blue-grey tone is never used for text).
- Keyboard operability: every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible 2px focus ring on focus.
- Real semantics: expandable sections are native buttons with aria-expanded and aria-controls; tables use real table markup with captions and header scopes; headings follow a logical order; pages use landmarks and unique titles.
- Touch targets are at least 48px on mobile, and crisis numbers (988, 911) are tap-to-call links.
- Reduced motion: with prefers-reduced-motion enabled, all animation is disabled — content renders complete and static, and the hero video is replaced by a still image. A visible “Pause motion” control also stops motion on demand and remembers the choice.
- Automated checks: every page scored 100 for accessibility in Lighthouse (desktop) at build verification.
Known limitations
Automated scores and design-time checks do not guarantee a barrier-free experience for every user and assistive technology; no formal third-party audit has been performed.
